Involved with an
analysis review on the main processing component for the bank’s ATM
Card processing program. This program contains three major
components: Daily Card Create, Emergency Card Processing & the
Monthly Re-Issue Process.
-
As part of a system tuning initiative,
this process was identified & targeted for a rewrite of the program
due to the volume of data it processes, the number of runs and a
desire to streamline redundant common processes. My tasks for this
effort include writing the Technical Design Documents for the steps
necessary to split off all of the reporting pieces into separate
modules that will be called from a new primary processing program.
-
Reviewing the
existing documentation for the MA System Run Book and comparing
existing documentation against the production libraries, procs,
jobs, etc and updating the documentation as needed.

Providing the
following support for the Charter One Bank conversion acquisition
effort: Provided support for Citizen’s ATM & MA (Merger Acquisition)
applications. I wrote the conversion program to handle the
in-flight transactions file from Charter One Bank for Phases 1 thru
4, which needed to be re-formatted from a Stratus file format to a
Concord file format which is what Citizens uses for their nightly
batch processes for posting ATM activity. These files contain in
excess of $8 million dollars of ATM card/Debit card transactions
which needed to be properly debited /credited to converted customers
accounts.
-
In addition, I updated the banks on-line CICS application
to include new bank numbers/regions for the acquisition. I am also
involved in executing test scripts for ATM testing of new cards for
each phase of the conversion task. I am also called upon for giving
direction to other contractors here on-site from other agencies and
acting liaison to Charter One Bank contacts for ATM related
tasks/issues.
-
Responsible for
updating / creating documentation for enhancements and provide
technical support / on-call rotation duties for nightly batch
processes & testing cycles for conversion.

-
Project Lead for
Mainframe Legacy Systems Y2K effort overseeing 5 team resources and
code review.
-
Project Lead for
code design to create new PO numbers for an existing in-house SMEPO
(Store Maintenance & Equipment Purchase Order System). PO number
field was changed from a numeric to an alphanumeric field
eliminating the need for file expansions. Code design included
alphabetic character with a numeric numbering scheme. This effort
was a high-profile assignment considering the fact that this system
would have run out of valid numbers within a 5 month period in which
the system would have generated duplicate PO numbers. Coding
changes were made to the online-system utilizing CA’s UFO (User
Files Online) along with batch programs. New JCL was written along
with JCL enhancements.
-
